Free Lectures

The Museum regularly offers free lectures in conjunction with special exhibitions, the permanent collection, and other related topics. Presented by respected scholars and Museum staff in the Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium and in the Ruth and Harold D. Uris Center for Education, these programs are free with Museum admission and do not require tickets or reservations. Subscription Lectures

Special ticketed lectures by Museum curators and distinguished experts on art, architecture, music, and history are presented at the Museum from September through June. Tickets may be purchased for individual lectures or for lecture series; ticket prices vary.

Sunday at the Met

The Sunday at the Met series in the Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium offers lectures, films, panel discussions, literary presentations, and musical performances based on a special exhibition or cultural theme. These engaging and informative afternoons are free with Museum admission and do not require tickets or reservations unless otherwise noted. Selected programs are real-time captioned. Orientation Talks

Orientation talks presented by curators, art historians, and educators in the Ruth and Harold D. Uris Center for Education provide an overview of select special exhibitions. These talks are free with Museum admission.

Symposia

Several times a year, the Museum presents symposia in conjunction with special exhibitions or new installations. These programs bring together scholars, curators, and other specialists from around the world to discuss new research in art, art history, and archaeology. At The Cloisters Museum & Gardens

Collection highlight tours, garden tours, gallery talks, and other programs are also presented regularly at The Cloisters Museum & Gardens, the branch of The Metropolitan Museum of Art devoted to the art and architecture of medieval Europe.
