Venture abroad with the Metropolitan Museum's own lecturers and other art lovers to gain new insights and fresh perspectives on art and culture. More than just a vacation, a Travel with the Met international exploration combines curatorial expertise and behind-the-scenes viewing arrangements with spectacular itineraries and interesting companionship.

Thailand, Vietnam, & Cambodia (PDF)

January 11–29, 2009
From Bangkok, fly to Hanoi, and then visit Danang and Ho Chi Minh City. Continue on to Phnom Pehn, and stay in Siem Reap to explore the legendary ruins at Angkor.

Rajasthan CourtRajasthan in Depth (PDF)

February 1–18, 2009
Discover Rajasthan's palace and fortress museums, which unite impressive architecture with dazzling collections of costumes and objects. Here the maharajas' glamorous lifestyle is brought back to vivid life. Begin in Delhi, then travel to Jaipur, often called the "pink city." Drive through the colorful Rajasthan countryside, complete with wild peacocks and antelopes, to the walled city of Bikaner and to the once-mighty trading city of Jaisalmer. Continue to the ancient Mewar capital of Jodphur and to Ranakpur to see the most beautiful Jain temple in India. At the hill station of Mount Abu, we will stay at the Palace Hotel, the former summer residence of the royal family of Bikaner. Conclude in Udaipur, on the shore of Lake Pichola. Optional prelude in Agra to see the Taj Mahal.

Dramatic landscapes and sacred sites are featured on this ten-night cruise from Bilbao to Caen aboard Sea Cloud II. Step ashore in La Rochelle and continue to the shipbuilding town of Rochefort, where French ships have been constructed and repaired for nearly three centuries.
